To infinity and beyond!
Our topic this term is all about Earth, space and the universe. Our topic sessions will be focused on the geography of Earth and other planets, famous astronauts throughout history and we will carry out a range of scientific experiments to learn about the properties of different materials and the five human senses. We will read a range of stories about space by different authors, including Oliver Jeffers, alongside using nonfiction texts to learn facts. If you feel you can help throughout this term or have any expertise in any of these professions areas that you can offer us we would be delighted to have your help. Please do come and see me to sort out dates in advance.
PE will continue to take place on a Tuesday morning. Please dress your child in their PE kit including plimsolls or trainers and have their school uniform in their bags please.
There will not be any Frogmore sessions this term.
Alongside the homework that is given each Wednesday, please continue to read regularly with your child. We will continue in class to practise the ‘Rainbow words’ that I sent home over Christmas and these will be sent home at intervals throughout the rest of the year to keep you updated with your child’s progress. Please continue to practise any words that your children is not yet confident with as these will assist their reading.
Please send your child’s book bag into the classroom with their books in every day. It is really helpful if you can write which pages you have read or if you have finished a book in their yellow reading record books please. Also, if they have struggled with anything please let us know and we will try to help them when we read with them too.
