Reading at home
At Chalgrove School we are passionate about reading! It is crucial that our children access and enjoy books from as early an age as possible, so that they can learn in all areas of the curriculum.
We expect all children to read at home each night to improve their fluency and understanding of texts, as well as for pleasure. All children are provided with a reading record, which is checked in school, to monitor the level and range of books being read by our pupils.
Please refer to the link below to find our which reading schemes we are using in school, as well as which reading colour band book your child is expected to be on in each year group.
If you have any questions about your child's reading, please speak to your child's class teacher or Mrs. Burgess, our Literacy lead.
