Our new topic is ‘How Things Work’. The children will be finding out about how things are made and will also have the opportunity to make some things themselves. We are planning a visit to a science museum to learn about how things work in a hands on and interactive way.
Our P.E days will be Tuesday and Thursday. On a Wednesday the children are learning ball skills and invasion games, supported by our Ignite Apprentices. On a Thursday children are being introduced to a play-based approach to PE called BOING!
Please ensure your child has a named kit, we suggest leaving it in school from Monday to Friday in case we need to change our PE day.
We will be listening to children read each week, individually and/or as part of guided reading sessions, so please ensure your child has their bookbag with them every day. Your child receives a raffle ticket each time they fill a page in their reading record with adult signatures!
Forest School will take place each Wednesday morning (after Feb half term). Your child can come to school in their Forest school clothes and change into school uniform afterwards.
The children will receive weekly homework including spellings. This will be a short activity supporting your child's learning in class. Please continue to read daily with your child at home in addition to this.
