Weekly Summary

Weekly update 5.2.23

The children have had a busy week! Lots of learning about subordinate conjunctions in English, fractions in Maths, fruits in Spanish, balance activities in PE and finally enjoying our last swimming session. I think it's now time for the children to enjoy a restful half term. Thank you parents for your continued support in the children's learning this term.

Next term, we are looking closely at introducing the genre of still life in Art. It's an old art form and one which is still enjoyed by many contemporary artists today. We will be focusing on the artist Paul Cezanne. If you would like to explore this artist further over the half term break, please find lots of information on BBC Bitesize

( or perhaps visit the National Gallery in London where you can come across some of his great work.

Happy February half term everyone!

Term 3

Weekly update 29.2.24

This week the children have been completing their playscripts based on nursery rhymes with a twist for Oxford Playhouse. They can't wait to hear the chosen playscript and see it performed professionally at the Playhouse in March.

In Maths we have continued to work on multiplication and division, learning different methods to help us. For more practise, here is a link for some fun maths games on the BBC Bitesize website.

In Spanish, we have continued learning how to greet people. Saying hello, how are you and how they are feeling. If you would like to continue to practise this at home, please find some really good videos on the BBC Bitesize

The children are still working on staying committed to their pledges in RE. Year 4 are all doing really well and working hard to keep them going.

We have now completed our rainforest unit in Geography. Please do ask the children what they have discovered and the facts they thought were interesting. We had a good debate on some of our discoveries.

This is our last week for our swimming sessions. The children have been doing so well, it's been great to see all of them become good, confident and strong swimmers!
